Some European Developments in Welding Consumables

L. Karlsson and H. K. D. H. Bhadeshia

Abstract

This paper represents a selected survey of incisive research on novel welding consumables which contribute to the structural integrity of advanced engineering structures. It is evident that there are tremendous advances to be made by applying the most sophisticated instrumentation available to Materials Science, together with theory and insight based on metallurgical experience. We congratulate the Japan Welding Society for organising this special issue of their journal.
