MSM-Darwin bike ride to St Ives, July 2017

# On a beautiful summers's day, the team from Darwin College and from the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy cycled to St Ives. There was some racing on the way with Mathew Peet winning by 15 seconds, followed by Harry Bhadeshia, and then Eliran Bar-El and Girish Nivarti. But the return trip was a bit relaxed after having lovely meals and drinks in St Ives. The age range of the participants was from 3 years to 63 years.

Just before the start, Eli's bicycle had a serious failure with a malfunctioning junction between the tube and valve. Girish and Harry cycled into town in search of a shop that was open on Sunday, finally obtained a new tube at a shop on Jesus Lane.

Mathew Peet and Dominik Dziedzic helping replace the tube.

Turns out that Eli used to be a semi-professional cyclist. He did not warn us, so a good poker player as well.
