Professor J. R. Yang (PT Group) and Hung Wei Yen conducted research on a steel strengthened by very small particles. This resulted in commercial manufacture by China Steel in Taiwan. Their work has been recognised with the award of the Jem Tien Yow prize for contributions to Taiwan's Engineering and Industry. Jeme Tien Yow was a famous Engineer who designed railways in China during the Chin Dynasty.
