Shaumik Lenka, Apparao Chintha, Steve Ooi and Harry Bhadeshia went to the Asia Steel Conference 2018, held in the beautiful city of Bubaneshwar in India. The conference lasted from the 6th to the 9th of February, after which Harry went to the Tata Steel Laboratory in Jamshedpur.

Harry travelled by coach to Heathrow Airport, while Steve, Shaumik and Apparao went by limousine. Such is life. However, the advantage of travelling by coach is that coffee is available.

In Delhi, at the gate for the flight to Bubaneshwar, Harry had a chance encounter with Professor Ramapada Manna (PT Group member and IITBHU in Banaras). The temperature was 20 C.

From Bubaneshwar, Harry went on to Tata Steel in Jamshedpur. Here he enjoys some naughty but nice sweets at the Kundu family residence.

The tradition is to exchange jokes. Rishiraj: "a thief stops a man and demands his money. The man says - do you know who I am, a politician. The thief says - Okay, give me my money."

After lunch, Harry and Saurabh went to watch the Bollywood movie "Pad Man". Rishiraj was preparing for examinations so he and Itishree could not join us.
