The fourth ICONWELD 2018 conference was held at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), which was founded in 1917. The conference was associated with a display of industrial equipment appropriate for joining of all kinds. Conference topics included:

 The ribbon was cut by Cécile Mayer who is the Chief Executive of teh International Institute of Welding, and Dave Flood who is the President of the American Welding Society. You can see the in the video above. On the left in this image is Professor Francisco Rumiche, leading the organisation of the meeting. |

 This is a water turbine for hydroelectric power generation. Water jets are aimed directly at the bucket-shaped blades with the kinetic energy of the water converted into the mechanical motion of the turbine. |
 The turbine is made of 13 wt% chromium, cast steel. |

 The water causes damage over time, repaired here by welding. |

 The University has the most modern equipment, but this working tensile testing machine brings back Harry's work at quality control laboratory of the British Oxygen Company (1970-). |
 This is a wear testing machine where special sand is driven to abrade the steel by a rubber wheel. |
