Carefully chosen problems will be studied to take full advantage of this essential facility. There will be a long process of education for those who wish to use the facility. You can test your elementary understanding here. On page 5 of this document you will see the the total amount of material ever examined in a TEM is less than the weight of a pin. Therefore, the TEM should be used for appropriate problems, and other characterisation methods should be used to establish that the observations are representative.
