MAP makes use of the search engine on the University of Cambridge website to provide the user with a limited search of the MAP website.

Simple search of the entire MAP website:

The search engine will look for files containing any of the words entered into the box. Note, the search will be case insensitive if the words are given in lower case:

Phrases can be defined using double quotation marks. Multiple phrases should be separated by commas:

The inclusion of upper case characters in a word will result in the search engine attempting to find an exact match for it:

Searching the titles, keywords, authors and short descriptions of the webpages:

Each web page on MAP is labelled by means of a title, a set of keywords, the names of the authors and a short description of the contents, all of which are accessible to the search engine. An example of the contents of these labels is:

title:MAP Program MAP_NICKEL_NIPROS
author:Tancret, Bhadeshia, Gibbs, MacKay
keywords:nickel, superalloy, yield stress, Tpros, gaussian process, temperature
description:An application of the Tpros program for calculating the yield stress of nickel-based superalloys.

The titles for the routines (programs, subroutines, functions, modules) are always of the form:
MAP Routine type MAP_library name_routine name.

Title
A search of just the titles can be made by typing 'title:' followed by the required search string.
e.g.

Author
Similarly, the surnames of the authors for each page can be searched by typing 'author:' followed by the required search string.

Keywords
The keywords for each page can be searched by typing 'keywords:' followed by the required search string.
e.g.

Description
The description for each page can be searched by typing 'description:' followed by the required search string.
