Description

A set of artificial neural network models in a Bayesian framework for the estimation of key characteristics of friction stir welding as a function of a number of process parameters. The purpose is to help generate maps which define the safe and prolonged use of stir welding tools.

The models are based on data generated from three-dimensional heat transfer calculations, and visco-plastic material flow algorithms.
