Notes:
Studies due to Leslie has shown that carbide forming elements like vanadium interact with the interstitial solutes to produce an exagerrated solid solution strengthening effect which they call as "Interaction Solid Solution Strengthening". And these carbide forming subsitutional elements due to this effect also influence the strength contribution by other subsititutional alloying elements like W (as can be seen from the figure)
