To confirm that the effect of V removal removes only the exagerrated solution strengthening, phase stability calculations were performed. Except for appearance and disappearance of M2X they show no change in the phase fractions or wt% of dissolved solutes in both the cases where V is present and absent. But presence or absence of M2X has no effect on the strength contribution of tungsten to HCM12A.
