Intermetallic Extraction & Analysis

The technique was developed at Sintef during the 1980s, enabling sufficient quantities of dry butanol to be distilled for the reliable extraction and collection in the absence of H2O, of sufficient particulate for subsequent analysis.
Extracted Particles are ground and analysed using X-ray diffraction and resultant traces are compared with those from known intermetallic types
