Shanghai Tower and Shanghai Grand Opera House

The tallest building in Shanghai is the Shanghai Tower, a 632-metre high skyscraper with 128 stories, known for its twisting design, world's highest observation deck, fastest elevators (74 km/h). It is China's tallest building. It's construction was completed during 2014.

The Shanghai Grand Opera house is still at the construction stage, but Harry, with the help of ECADI, was able to see the details of the structural engineering. Snøhetta developed the architectural, landscape, interior, and graphic design for the Opera, and the project was undertaken in partnership with Shanghai-based architects ECADI.

This has nothing to do with the visit, but is interesting.

There is an interesting tuned damper, with a 1000 tonne steel block damped by magnetic fields. It was difficult to see the who structure of the damper.
