Provides dilatometric data on the kinetics of bainite formation in nodular iron for different austenitising temperatures and times, and austempering temperatures.

Data are provided for a cast iron of composition:

The tar file consists of ADIkinetic.txt, an ASCII text version of this document, and 30 separate data files, named following the format hW_X_Y_Z, where h refer to a homogeneised sample and nh to a sample used as received (cf below), W is the austenitising temperature in celsius, X the austenitising time in min, Y is the austempering temperature in celsius and Z the austempering time in min. Each file contains three columns :-

Column 1 is the temperature in celsius (austempering temperature).

Column 2 contains the differential dilatation (d/do - 1).

Column 3 is the time in seconds.

Further Comments

Samples were used either as cast or after a heat-treatment consisting in 3 days at 1000°C for homogeneisation. Samples are therefore described as "as received" or "homogeneised".
