Description

The tar file contains data on the solidification hot cracking of welds in impure low-alloy steels. File Weld.hot.crack.data has the actual data, while Weld.hot.crack.info contains an ASCII text version of this explanation.

The data are arranged in columns as follows :-

Column 1 is either 0 (for cracked) or 1 (not cracked).

Columns 2-9 give concentrations of elements in the steel, weight percent :-

Carbon
Silicon
Manganese
Phosphorus
Sulphur
Nickel
Chromium
Molybdenum

Column 10 is the welding current in amperes.

Column 11 is the welding voltage in volts.

Column 12 is the welding travel speed in cm/min.

Column 13 is the weld preparation groove angle in degrees.

Column 14 is the preheat temperature in centigrade.
