This library contains weld metal chemical analysis data (wt% and ppm by wt) and Charpy toughness values (in Joules).
The tar file has two constitiuents; data are contained in the file Weld.toughness.data, while Weld.toughness.info contains an ASCII text version of this explanation.
The file Weld.toughness.data has two distinct parts, with data arranged in columns as follows.
Column 1 defines the process: 0.5 for submerged arc welding, -0.5 for manual metal arc welding
Column 2 gives upper yield stress in MPaColumns 3-8 give concentrations from chemical analysis of weld metal, the units being weight% :-
CarbonColumns 9 and 10 give concentrations from chemical analysis of weld metal; units are parts per million by weight :-
NitrogenThe second half of the file contains Charpy toughness values in Joules. The arrangement of rows is precisely the same as in the first half of the file. Thus, row 1 of the top half corresponds to row 1 of the second half.
