Purpose

This program allows the growth of austenite nucleated within pearlite to consume both the cementite and ferrite lamellae. An austenite allotriomorph at the cementite/ferrite interface thickens in both (opposite) directions, isothermally and under carbon diffusion-control. The method is published in "Pearlite in Steels, H. K. D. H. Bhadeshia, 2024, the relevant page of which is included in the download files. The steel is Fe-0.76C wt% and transformed isothermally at 750 centigrade. The interlamellar spacing within the pearlite before heating is set at 0.4 micrometres.
