Golden is a small town created after the discovery of gold, and before the region became the State of Colorado and joined the Union.

The plane was delayed in its departure by about 3 hours because the pilot was unwell so a reserve had to be called upon. Landing in Denver was delayed by about 40 min because of heavy thunderstorms.

They explained the origins of the ASPPRC, which they had founded some 40 years ago, initially with five year funding from the National Science Foundation and Industry, and then becoming self-sufficient and international.
