Purpose

Provides chemical and geometrical data on oxide inclusions in low-alloy, ferritic steel welds.

Description

The file which is downloaded contains the following information:

Table 1 lists chemical compositions of welds / wt.%. Only deoxidising compositions (Si, Mn, Al, Ti), nitrogen and oxygen concentrations are listed.

Table 2 lists geometrical characteristics of inclusions in the welds. The first column is the identification mark, the second the mean three--dimensional particle diameter in micrometres, the third the inclusion volume fraction multiplied by 1000, the fourth the number of particles per cubic millimetre, the fifth the mean centre-to-centre interparticle spacing in micrometres, the sixth the mean surface-to-surface interparticle spacing in micrometres. The last column gives the reference number.

Table 3 lists the chemical compositions of inclusions / wt.%.
