Visitors from the Harbin Institute of Technology, December 2009

A senior delegation visited Cambridge University from the Harbin Institute of Technology. The visitors included the President (Professor Wang Shuguo), director of the Centre for Control Theory and Guidance Technology (Professor Duan Guang-Ren), Vice Dean of the School of Water and Environmental Engineering (Professor Ma Jun), Director of the Ultra-Precision Optoelectronic Instrument Engineering Research Institute (Professor Tan Jiubin), Director of the International Office (Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering), Ms Kelly Wang Yin (International Officer).

The participants from Cambridge included Dr Kate Pretty (Pro-Vice-Chancellor for International Strategy and Principal of Homerton College), Harry Bhadeshia (Tata Steel Professor of Metallurgy), Professor Lindsay Greer (Head of Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy), Professor Yang Jianguo (from HIT, currently working with Harry), Dr Geoff Parker (Sharaj Fellow in Water Resources, Engineering Department), Mrs Tao-Tao Chang (Head of the International Office).

The visitors were first introduced to the University at the Old Schools, then came over to Materials Science and Metallurgy, and then a nice lunch at the University Centre.
