Professor Xuejun Jin of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, presented a seminar on steels which are partially transformed into martensite and then reheated to allow the carbon to partition into the residual austenite. These are the so-called quench and partitioning steels, and may include a tempering heat treatment.
