Frozen Coke and Diffusion, and partitioning of colour between phases, January 2007

A photograph sent by Richard Kemp from the French Alps. Quote:" this was a bottle of Coke that froze (it's been chilly lately) and then defrosted. As you can see, the colouring has been segregated out from the top of the liquid (where freezing starts) and diffusion has been too slow to allow it to mix back again. Sorry about the out-of-focus... I'll try again when it happens again as it surely will..."
