Gold plate offered to the gods by Empress Wu Zetian

The photograph below was taken by Professor Tsong Perng of the Tsing Hua National University in Taiwan. It was taken at the old capital of China, Luo-Yang (capital for seven dynasties). This is where Wu Zetian (627-705 AD) became the first female emperor in Chinese history.

Wu Zetian was determined to to challenge Confucian beliefs against rule by women. She said that the ideal ruler was one who ruled like a mother does over her children. She managed to manoeuvred herself over many years into the position of the first Empress of China.

To establish credibility, she travelled to Song-Shan, the Central Mountain in China, to worship God with the offering of the gold plate which apparently was accepted, providing evidence that she was a real emperor approved by God.

The plate was discovered quite recently by a farmer from the valley of that mountain.
